Locked out? Lost Keys? No problem…
Whether you’re locked out or even locked in (it has happened!) fear not, we’ll be there in a jiffy and get you sorted in next to no time. St Piran’s Locksmiths will gain entry to your property by lock picking or drilling, keeping damage to a minimum. If your keys are locked inside, we’ll attempt to gain entry to your property without necessitating a change of lock, allowing you to continue using existing keys.
How we open your door will depend on the type of lock. These are the most popular systems…
Cylinder Rim Locks (Yale Locks)
If you lose keys to a cylinder rim lock (Yale lock) we’ll try and pick the cylinders where possible. If we can’t do this we’ll most likely drill the lock to open the door and then change the lock barrel. Barrel changes on Yale type locks are generally inexpensive.
Mortice Locks
If keys for a locked Mortice lock are unavailable we’d employ non-destructive techniques that allow entry while keeping the lock or door usable if possible. Only if those options aren’t suitable would we move on to controlled destructive methods, accepting that the lock will need replacing afterward.
Suited or Restricted Systems
If you lose a key to a suited or restricted lock we can replace your suited lock or order a new key on your behalf.
